My kids rode an elephant yesterday
Shouldn't every blogger have that as a post title at least once in their blog?!?
Last week they were having a circus ticket giveaway on the radio station I listen to at work. People with kids were invited to email the DJ and request free tickets. I emailed on Monday and much to my surprise, circus tickets arrived in my mailbox on Tuesday! So after Sophie's party guests left, we picked up Emma from her friend's house and made it to the 10:00 circus performance. It was really fun and at intermission, we got to go down on the arena floor (trying to avoid as many clowns as possible) and Sophie & Julia got to ride this elephant (Emma opted out--too stinky for her). Great way to spend a Saturday morning (if you're not an elephant)!!

So the sleepover was a huge success...
--Pizza, cake and ice cream eaten.
--Sculpey creations made and painted.
--After-dark Easter eggs hunted by flashlight.
--Bracelets made and swapped.
--Air Freshener rendered.
--Giggles and fits of hysterics heard until well past 2:00 am.
--Post-sleepover naps taken!!

Party!
Tonight is Sophie's first sleepover birthday party at our house. She has been ultra-excited and super organized. I've been finding supply and game lists, and sample drawings of cake decoration ideas here and there around the house. We've had countless discussions about sleeping arrangements and food. I think the planning has been almost as fun as the party will be! Although judging by this itinerary I just found, the party sounds like a blast!
(I just realized that "sleep" didn't even make the itinerary...so it could be a long night!!)

Let's Go Fly a Kite
Well, no one can say we didn't try!
It has been insanely windy in the past few weeks around here, but we decided to try to fly our kite on possibly the least windy day ever. We did manage to get it airborne a few times, but it was a lot more effort than we thought it would be.
Of course, when we got home, the usual winds picked right up...oh well!
