uh oh

I didn't really take much stock in the whole end-of-the-world-is-tomorrow idea until I came in to work this morning and noticed the shape of the water stain on our leaking ceiling...

--gulp--
I'm definitely going to Cold Stone tonight!

NJHS

Those prestigious little letters stand for National Junior Honor Society into which Emma was inducted tonight.
Since I made the Dean's List one semester in college and Bob remembers getting a few A's here and there, you can see where she gets her brilliance!
Seriously though, she works very hard and does great in school--we couldn't be more proud!!

Mom's Day

Happy Mother's Day all you moms! Here are some tidbits of my mom'hood:
(yes I will be bringing this one out when she's 15!)

(never you mind the bit about the blonde shampoo...) : )

(previously this picture had only said 'I love my mom.' I recently found it had been edited a little. Oh well...you win some...you lose some!)

I got lots of nice homemade cards, a gift certificate to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, supplies for this fabulous Fairy Garden (then made by the girls and me) and a board game Sophie and Julia made in which all the players have to choose cards and follow the path to Queen Mama. The perfect game for the gal who doesn't play board games...I just get to watch and cheer on the winner...who then gets a hug from the queen...ME!
I'm waaaaay too spoiled!

First Communion

Julia had her First Communion on Saturday. The mass was well organized and we ended up with a front pew seat this year (historically our assigned seating had been towards the back of the church). Julia was nervous but she looked lovely and did a great job!

Sophie's Choir Concert Snippets

Sophie had her final choir concert of the year (and of elementary school--she's tired of waking up early for weekly rehearsals...) She's hard to locate in the crowd but she's in the second row (from the bottom) just left of center. But if you turn up the volume, you can at least hear how great they sounded!
Can't beat a little Journey tune...
A bit of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang--look out Glee!

Long's "Peek"

On clear mornings, this is the view I get to see after dropping the girls off at their bus stop.
It makes me happy.

(Long's Peak peeks out from behind the field at the top of our street)
