trunk-or-treat

Tonight we volunteered to decorate our trunk for our school's Trunk-or-Treat event.  Yes.  Brrrrrrr.  We thought our spider-licious trunk turned out pretty well...

 ...until the crazy creative gorilla-cage-in-the-back-of-the-truck-complete-with-the-grandma-dressed-as-a trapped-gorilla pulled into the space next to us.  And the Oscar goes to...crazy gorilla truck.  Oh well!

things that go bump

In light of recent events, we've all been a little on edge lately.  When we let the dog out to do his business last night, we were a little nervous when he stood on point with the hair on his back standing up straight, barking and barking his 'I'm-a-big-boy-get-out-of-my-yard' bark.  When we looked out to investigate further, we discovered the intruder...the source of his distress...

Wish all the 'bad guys' were this easily identifiable!

Man, am I happy the weather is changing and all that pesky sweating and complaining about being too hot is coming to an end.  Fall is in the air & that can only mean one thing.  It's almost Christmas!!!  Woohoo!

Here are some souvenirs Sophie brought home from the dentist today.  Those, and a fair amount of pain and suffering...Poor thing!  She was quite the trooper, even as her mean, old mom dragged her straight from the dentist to parent-teacher conferences at school.  Appointment-scheduling faux-pas number 311.

(She has a wacky party going on with her un-erupted permanent teeth, so the orthodontist thought they might get the idea to pull themselves together and come in straighter if we got some of the baby teeth out of the way. Hopefully all the trauma will end up doing some good!!) 

Now we're just counting on the sweet Tooth Fairy to make it really all worth while!! Looks like she should make quite the haul!

We don't get to see my Aunt & Uncle nearly enough--way too many miles between us.  Luckily, we made it on their road trip itinerary!  Woohoo!!  They're great fun & gave us lots of ideas for our next road trip (or two!) 

(you knew this would show up somewhere, didn't you?!? I can freely post this one because with the setting of the timer & running in...and almost knocking over Steve's tv...I didn't have much time to crazify myself...darn it!)
