Bittersweet senior solo from Emma's final Horizon concert. Luckily she'll continue to play in college thanks to a performing arts scholarship she received! Yahoo!! ((solo starts around 1:30...sorry for the camera shake--that was me being more nervous than she was!!))

Western State Colorado University

Just got back from a weekend road trip to the Gunnison Valley to check out Western State Colorado University's Preview Weekend. We've looked at so many colleges & universities we thought we'd check this one off the list too. Turns out, this was the one not to miss. There was such a great vibe & felt so welcoming and homey that Emma just couldn't resist deciding to attend here in the fall...and we were in full agreement with her. After visiting big schools, small schools, big names & unknowns, this one just feels right.
Hooray--Western should be quite an adventure--just what she always wanted in a college!!

This building is the original college built in 1890...it now houses offices & English/Communications classrooms where she'll be spending lots of time...

Gunnison/Crested Butte are recovering from rather epic January snowstorms which closed the ski resort (!!) for a couple days & gave the university snow days for the first time in thirty years. They're a hearty bunch over there & seem to make the most of it!!
