Here's the start of our big South Dakota adventure...left early...6:15...and actually made it out on schedule. Stopped at Johnson's Corner for world famous, (translate: mediocre) cinnamon rolls but great truck-stop atmosphere. Drove up into Wyoming which, we discovered, is quite hilly...and very antelope'y. More antelope than people, we'd venture to say. Miles and miles and miles and miles of hilly pastureland and abandoned farms....and antelope. Saw the turn-off for "Register Cliff" and wagon wheel ruts from travelers on the Oregon Trail...Emma and I were
drooling but we put it on the agenda for the way home instead. If anyone out there is worried about over-population & urban sprawl, head to Wyoming--your fears will be
completely forgotten!
