We started our fishing tour by driving up to Echo Lake near the entrance to the road to Mount Evans. Apparently, fish don't live there at all because the only signs of life we saw were these--and a whole bunch of seaweed which snarled our lines:
We did, however, also see this:
That's frost, my friends. And 4 out of 5 people in our group were utterly giddy with delight! The 5th person just rolled his eyes and said, "oh great" with the most sarcastic voice he could muster. "Winter IS coming, Mr. Grinch," we all replied.
Discouraged by the lack of aquatic activity at Echo Lake, we decided to take Squaw Pass back down to Evergreen Lake to try our luck. But...still no luck.
The girls even tried a little hillbilly hand-fishing...trying to catch minnows and crawdads and some really unidentifiable fish/insect combo we've never seen before. But that didn't work too well either.
So we went to London instead. Call me.......
(teehee--actually somehow the McDonald's in Bergen Park has this old phone booth out in front--what the!)
