then and now

Bob's relatives were able to show us the farm Bonnie's maternal grandparents owned when they first settled in Yuma (1912'ish)...and where she lived for a while.  As a history buff, I was in seventh heaven!
Move over, John Fielder...            Carpenter Farm, 1936
2012
Grandpa Carpenter and Bonnie's mother, Helen (maybe?) sitting on the porch ledge c. 1912
steps & ledge with house foundation behind

top part of photo is outline of barn (so the fence piece would actually be behind where the horses are standing in the above photo--it's not the one in front of them)
windmill, 1938
The windmill fell towards the direction of the pile of hay (it would be laying in front of the hay pile today)

Thanks for sharing (and I am going to look-up exactly where Yuma, CO is located). The picture of the older gentlemen (#21 in the album) is a wonderful picture, well worth painting, of an older man. Love it.

He was a bombardier in WWII...now 90+ yrs old. Snapping pics & climbing in & out of the tractor wagon. Awesome!
