On the last day of summer vacation today, we declared that we weren't going to mope around & complain or sit around and be nervous about school. We decided to head out and find some adventure at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. And what a day of adventure it was!

My friend, Bonnie, had a cockatiel - we shared an apt (BF...before Fritz) and Zeppo (bird's name) was a hoot. He could whistle "Waltzing Matilda" and loved cheese, white wine and ice cream. A bird of good tastes ;)
This was a room full of budgies and cockatiels (and a few finches who probably sneaked in). One of them was doing the 'hey you're a cute girl' whistle. Couldn't tell which one...maybe the one kissing Julia?!?
I want a giraffe.
